  1. My wife is a nurse in her late 40’s, does 3×12 hour days on hard floors. She swears by ON and likes the cloudsurfers, she rotates a few pairs. That said she’s moving the whole time rather than standing in one place. I’m in my 50’s and do 3-5 miles a day on dirt trails and like more minimalist zero drop shoes like the Lems Trailblazers. But she convinced me to get a pair of ON, which I’m going to try on our upcoming euro trip where we’ll certainly be walking a lot. We’ll see how it goes!

  2. When I did warehouse work, I wore skate shoes because I was on my feet all day. Now that I’m older I’ve tired these squishy foam monster shoes but they are just horrible on my feet and knees. They are for running, not standing around or casual walking.

  3. Running shoes are for running. The impact and compression probably makes it comfortable for your feet.. you want shoes that replicate that at low impact.. weight lighting shoes are great

  4. I second the zero drop for lots of standing. I usually wear my altra running shoes for a trip to Disneyland for lots of standing/walking for a few days. but I’ve also worn Bedrock Cairn sandals and they were awesome. my last trip I wore Birkenstock Arizonas which were ok for standing, but I ended up with blisters from walking friction on the tops of my feet. The thing I liked about wearing sandals was that while in line I could slip them off and flex/stretch/massage my feet. Just wore my Lems Boulder boots to a three day event with lots of walking/standing and they were pretty comfy.
